The Shed at Seabank
Self-Catering Studio in Plockton![]()
![]()
We have recently converted our part stone, part wood construction Shed, which originates from around the same time as our house, into a comfortable studio apartment which is traditional on the outside and yet modern on the inside. It features a good sized kitchen with all the expected facilities leading into a comfortable living area with dining table, which has a high ceiling with featured beams. It also contains a settee and armchair, television with Free-to-view channels and DVD player, and a CD player music system. The bedroom is upstairs from this living area and offers a queen-sized comfortable double bed in a gallery area, and in common with all other parts of the accommodation, oak has been used to retain the traditional feel of the building. Out from the sliding patio door there is an area of decking which captures the sun for long periods (when it is out) and is the perfect place for a quiet drink or to read a book in peace. Should you wish the seaside, you can use the garden at the front of the house, which is shared with others in the household.
As is the case with old buildings, from a time when people were not as tall (or as wide) as they can be nowadays, space is a little limited with a sloping ceiling in the bedroom, a fairly narrow staircase and a neat shower room. However it is all there and if not all of the ceilings are high, the standard of building and fitting out is. We love the way it has turned out and with reluctance are offering it to let on a weekly basis to anyone who shares our opinion of the premises. It is really only suitable for two people and accommodation in Plockton of this size and at this price is not common. Have a look at the photographs and see if it suits you. Booking details are at the bottom of the page.
